With the heat the first thing every body wants to do is to cut their hair short. It spells freedom. But there are those who simply can’t part with their hair. But they also don’t want to go with the old boring ponytail. For them, new innovative styles, is what they want. A simple pony may be alright for those lazy days of lying about the house but what about the busy days? With a jazzy ponytail, it is possible to stay chic while on the run in the sun.
Part Up Pony
First divide hair into two sections… an upper section and a lower section. Hold the top section with a ponytail holder. Backcomb the hair on the top a bit with a rattail comb. Finally wrap a band around it and secure the hair with pins.
Elegant Wrap Pony
To master this style, first bunch all your hair into a low pony and hold with a ponytail holder. Then remove a little hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the ponytail holder a couple of times. Then gently slide a finger through the ponytail holder in the back at the bottom and then simply push the ends through it.
Knotted Pony
Start by making a low ponytail here once again and then securing it with a holder meant especially for ponytails. Then go onto separating the ponytail into two and then twisting the sections into knots. Then pin up each of the knots. Finish by pulling a few strands from the knots and letting them fall about the place.
Twisted Pony
Add a little gel throughout the hair starting from the roots. Then take a section at a time of hair and twist them between your hands. Continue this way till the entire head of hair has been rolled. Then carefully gather this hair to make a really low ponytail. Wrap it with a ribbon to give it an elegant touch.
Spiked Pony
If your hair is short then this funky style is perfect for you. Pull random pieces of hair into many ponytails. Use wax to spike out the ends of each ponytail.
Covered Pony
Pull all the hair back into a low pony and secure it. Feel free to choose any material you want and wrap the entire tail from root to tip with it. Tie it at the end and fix with a ponytail holder.
Genie Pony
Take the upper hair and make a ponytail at the top of the crown. Then spray some hair liquid to prevent flyaways if you want. Then wrap the holder with some cloth and tuck the ends into it.
Coloured Pony
Here the ponytail should be made at a medium length and secured with a ponytail holder. Use a temporary dye to colour the tip of the ponytail. Let it dry. If you want a really dramatic and radical ponytail, try colouring the entire ponytail. Just a caution- be sure it is temporary and if it doesn’t was out after one wash you might just have to end up cutting your hair if you don’t like it.
