A bun spells elegance. It is the best hair do for the most formal occasion. But it is also possible to play around with the bun. It can be fun and creative and today’s buns satisfy even the most rebellious woman. A bun which was once known to be neat and simple is no longer so. So if you are fed up of the boring old bun, here are some more updo styles that have a twist to them.
Double Bun
Part you hair in the middle from the front till the very end at the back. Make two pigtails and wrap the two loosely into buns. Secure the buns in place with ponytail holders. Finally spritz hair with a medium hold spray to make it stay in place.
Bun Updo
Brush you hair into a neat high ponytail. This should lie right at the centre and high on the crown. Lift the pony up and smooth it by brushing it well from under. Use a styling gel if needed to get great hold. Then brush it back down, twist it, and turn the ponytail into a cute little bun. Arrange the rest of your hair around the bun to form a sort of formation around the small bun made with the ponytail. Once you have adjusted your ponytail into the size of the bun you want, pin it up with bobby pins. You could pin some strands of your hair right at the base of you want a wispy look top your bun. Do not forget that styling spray!
Messy Bun
Start with a styling gel throughout on damp locks. Tie a high ponytail and secure it with a holder at the top of the head. Divide the ponytail into three sections and then go onto twist each individual section into spirals. Now bring the sections twisted into spirals back to the base and pin the ponytail down. Tease a few strands of hair here and there by backcombing and finish with a strong hold hairspray.
Slick Bun
Once again you need to start by working styling gel through hair that is slightly damp. Smooth it out with a comb that has wide teeth. Make a low ponytail by gathering hair very neatly. Use a pony holder to secure it. Now you need to twist your ponytail to a loop and then wrap the ponytail around the ponytail. Hold all the random pieces of flyaway hair with bobby pins and hold with a hair spray with a certain amount of hold. To really get a slick look, finish with a shine spray.
Mini Buns
Here, you can choose the number of buns you want. Divide your hair that number of sections. Twist each section into a ponytail and then a bun and secure it with a holder. Finish with the holding spray as usual.
To really spice up you bun, you could always swipe some temporary colours on or use bejeweled accessories for glamour. These are just ideas for styles that you could create. Whenever you have time, you could always sit back and experiment.
