This is the final list in the commonly used slang most teenagers use today with reference to clothes and fashion. This should cover most of the stuff that has always baffled everyone else.
Rugby
These are jerseys with a logo or a varsity symbol printed on. These tops have bold stripes and are usually polo styled. They are actually meant to be worn on the field and meant specifically for rugby players but it is now even considered a uniform for many preppy kids. Every store that sells clothes meant for teenagers sells a wide variety of rugby tops. The fit is important. It should not be tight but fitted perfectly. The more funky the colour of the rugby top, the better it is.
Skater
Skater are meant for those who are consciously stylish but want to act like they don’t really care about how they look yet end up looking great all the time. A skater is all about attitude along with style. It may look like something you just toss on and might even associate with a grungy sweatshirt, but it is actually gives a look that is perfectly put together and very creative to boot. It looks like they have clothes have been layered on but the look is created with stitching double sleeves like teaming a pair of short sleeves with long sleeves on one shirt. These tops are usually worn with funky accessories that actually pull the whole look together.
Timbs
Timbs, or Timberlands, are boots worn by construction workers to work. They are tan coloured and tough and rugged. Even though they are worker boots, rap stars are more often seen in them. Manolo Blahnik recently designed a very high end version of the timbs. These were totally glammed up and had a painfully high heel. Everybody who is anybody has been seen wearing them. Jennifer Lopez to Joe Bryant… it has been worn by them all. They are now sometimes even known as Manolo Timbs.
Trainers
Trainers could be any kind of sports shoes but usually refer to sneakers that are trendy and hip. It doesn’t matter whether the sneakers are high tech or old school, if they are hip, they are trainers. They are also known as Tennies, Kicks, Sneaks, and Treads.
Trucker Hats
These are mesh caps that truck drivers usually wear. They pick up different caps from the different stops they make on their route. They are a lot like baseball caps but they have a crown that is higher and are a little stiffer than the regular old baseball cap. Ashton Kutcher was seen wearing thee hats all the time and then suddenly, the world got interested. This hat has become a craze ever since. A trucker hat is so kitschy that it actually becomes cool. Different designers sell different versions of the hat but buy the original from a gas station and that too at a fraction of the price.
Uggs
These are sheepskin boots that are very rugged and so ugly that they actually become adorable. These were made for surfers to wear after surfing but are now seen on hip Hollywood stars and are teamed with denim to flirty skirts.
