Beach Vacation Make Up

beach-vacation-make-up.jpg

You have been working out religiously, watched every morsel of food you have eaten, and dreamed day in and day out of chocolate. You have tortured yourself like crazy. All this has been done for that beach vacation where you know you want to look absolutely stunning. Well, you have made sure that your body is perfectly toned for the holiday. But what happens to your make up now? You definitely cannot wear the shades at the beach that you would normally wear everyday at the workplace or when you hit the town. In tropical settings, the colours have to be different. Your make up needs to be updated.

Fake Tan

You want that glow and so might think of trying a tanning bed for a couple of weeks before the holiday, bit that is not a very safe option. Spray on tans are better to try. You have no chances of burning yourself, won’t get any lines around your goggles, and will also prevent yourself from being exposed to UV rays. And the tan is instant. But since this is an artificial tan, you have to remember to slather on the sunscreen before you hit the beach.

Moisturiser

Excessive sunlight and constant touch with salt water will definitely dry your skin out. You need to double up your sunscreen with a moisturiser no matter what. Try something with botanicals and Vitamin E.

Sunscreen

This is pretty obvious. Use with one with at least an SPF 30. Go for a waterproof version for better protection.

Manicure Set

The minute your nails come in contact with sand, be sure that it is going to wreck havoc on your nails. So carry a manicure set for emergencies.

Foundation

The spray on tan should cover all your problems but if you still want some added colour and coverage, go for a sheer waterproof foundation. You do not want weird foundation lines with all the moisture and sweat. On the beach, with all the activity, it is best to not have any make up on at all or very little if you must.

Concealer

Use as little as possible but it is handy to cover up problem areas after you get out of the water. Again, this should be sweat proof and waterproof.

Cheeks

Use the most natural shade of cheek stain possible. A light bronzer on your cheekbones is an even better option. Go for face powder a few shades darker than your natural skin tone so as to not look shimmery.

Eyes

Use shades of shadow that matches your skin the most. A gold shade will highlight your eyes without looking like you have put make up. Try to not use mascara since the waterproof version is very harsh on eye lashes. Eye liner should be waterproof though. Dry the thinnest line possible in the darkest shade you can carry off. A dark brown or black looks stunning.

Lips

Stay away from lipsticks or you will look too made up. Go for a nude shade of lip gloss to make you look polished.
