Colin Farrell- His Hair History

Colin Farrell is a guy who not only every woman dreams of, but every man wants as a beer buddy. He is probably one of the most versatile actors today. He can go from boy next door to rocker punk with equal ease and can carry both off with pénache. So he would be an obvious choice to turn to when in a style rut. He has experimented with all sorts of hairstyles for his various movies. He is known to be the bad boy in reel and real life. But his hair has not been so consistent. It has changed with every change in movie from Phone Booth to Daredevil to SWAT to Miami Vice.

In SWAT, Colin Farrell played Jim Street, an officer and his look was clean cut. Well, his job was to get rid of the mean, bad men of the world. The sexy cut was a medium length with a mix of short and long layers. The top had long layers while the sides and the back were short. It is a very versatile hairstyle since the long layers can be moulded and shaped according to whim. This hairstyle needs to be cut professionally, but once done, it is very easy to style. You could spike the long layers or even style it into chunky pieces. Better yet, leave it natural. It looks totally rebellious. The long layers will give you the bed hair look while the back and the sides will stay in place.

In Phone Booth, his hair was a little longer. Since he had to look dishevelled with the stress he experienced, a messy hairstyle only made sense. The top is very long and is cut at angles so that it falls on the face as longer bangs. It is the best for faces that have really high foreheads. The back and sides are layered but are not very long. This is very easy to manage since some hair mousse is only needed to tame the bangs. The rest just falls into place. It requires at most five minutes a day to take care of it.

Colin Farrell has even experimented with the really grungy look. He just grows his hair out and plays around with his shaggy hairstyle for those wild moods that he gets into. It can be worn straight or even wavy. That is the leeway that men get. It doesn’t really matter. Colin Farrell has been spotted in a long do everywhere, right from a night partying to a red carpet event to premieres of movies. If you like the messy look, moulding cream is all you need but if you want to look presentable for a really fancy ‘do’, you will need to take out that hair dryer and sculpt the hair with pomade.

But if you want to look simply cute, his shorter styles are what you should look to for inspiration. The back and sides are not layered at all but in face cut close to the roots. The top is left a little longer but is cleaner since it’s been cut with a razor for a more defined look. It is the easiest to manage and you’ll be ready everyday in a pinch.
